Jewelry Trunk Show featuring local metalsmith E.V. Metals

Elizabeth Vaughn is a local metalsmith who specializes in chasing, repoussé and enameling on copper and sterling silver. Using her training from Arrowmont School of Crafts, John C. Campbell Folk School and Penland School of Crafts, E.V. creates one of a kind bracelets, cuffs, earrings, necklaces, rings and belt buckles. Come meet E.V. and see her new creations
Painting Workshop: Painting the Figure in Oil led by local artist Osiris Rain
Dates: 3 day workshop spread over three weeks

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Students will work from a live model for this three day workshop. You are welcome to B.Y.O. beer, wine, coffee, tea, etc. The workshop will cover the “basics” for the artist wishing to work in oils. We will delve into techniques and tools, i.e., color, value, edges and paint quality, and their relationship to the aesthetic considerations of the surface. Concept, composition, the artist’s /painter’s psychology, and its effect on one’s canvas will be possible avenues of exploration.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Osiris Rain (b-1986), is a classically trained painter who focuses primarily on portraiture and figurative work.
Born in Waxhaw, NC, he was accepted into the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy at an early age where he trained under Michael John Angel. He was later accepted as an apprentice and trained under Odd Nerdrum in Stavern, Norway.
Osiris has exhibited and his work has been collected throughout Europe and North America. Currently, he is based out of Charlotte, NC.
Sugar Skull Decorating Workshop

Cost: $20 per person
BYOD. Bring your own drink: tea, coffee, water, juice, wine, beer
Join us for an evening of sugar skull decorating. We'll provide the blank sugar skulls, icing, sequins and foil paper. Bring feathers, buttons, beads, extra sequins, recyclable trash, broken pieces of jewelry or other items you wish to add to the skulls.
